hencon Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I created a bootable Windows 7, 64 bit, premium home edition, disk from ImgBurn which is a fantastic program and ImgBurn performed flawlessly and made a good, bootable DVD. However, when I powered off my wife's laptop, inserted the disk, powered it back on, I got one of two things that would occur: 1. A black screen with a white "dash" flashing in the upper left corner or 2. a message on a black screen that reads "BootMgr missing","Press Ctl,Alt,Del to restart". The "BootMgr" message is the reason I downloaded ImgBurn and made the DVD and was a re-occuring problem! Any Ideas?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Post the log of you making the disc/image please. Is the boot priority set correctly on your wife's laptop?
hencon Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 (edited) ImgBurn.logYes! It is set to boot from cd/dvd as the first setting. I'm very new to this forum stuff and I don't know how to post the log on here! Please advise me if you can! Thank you! hencon Edited June 13, 2013 by hencon

You might like to slow the write speed down to 8x and reset the OS's DMA settings though (there's an option in the Tools menu) because your machine isn't running properly at the moment - it's very slow are reading and writing discs.
hencon Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 O.K. The laptop accepted the disk, installed everything beautifully and when I got to the point of entering "User Name" and "computer name" to finish the installation, the only thing I could enter into those areas were a series of "0" (zeros) and that was by using the "backspace" key, or sometimes the "Z" key, but i could not enter any other characters, thus stopping me from finishing the process that was, otherwise, flawless! I've tried everything to just get one different character into the "computer name" line so it doesn't match the username but all I can enter are these little narrow zeros! I don't know of any work-around to get past the username and computer name impasse that I am at! Thank You Very Much!!!!
