tindolph Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I am trying to backup various folders from an old laptop to BDRs. Options are set to: Data Type: MODE1/2048 File System: UDF UDF Revision: 2.01 Preserve Full Pathnames Recurse Subdirectories Include Hidden Files Include System Files There are multiple copies of nearly identical folders on different drives (these folders have the same names and nearly identical content-they appear to be snapshots in time, but not 100% certain). In build mode I get the error messages such as: Cannot add file to folder!File: 'american.clx'Folder: '\INTERNET\EUDORA\v521\'Reason: A file with that name already exists. A search confirms that the named file is in identically named folders on different drives : Name In Folder american.clx G:\INTERNET\EUDORA\v521 american.clx C:\Internet\Eudora\v521 Again I trying to make a backup BD - no video, DVD, etc. so there should be no format constraints. Why is this a problem and how do I fix it?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 You can't have 2 files with the same name in the same folder... that's pretty much all there is to it. If you use the 'Advanced' input mode (use the menu at the top to change the input mode), you should be able to rename the duplicate file as it's added to the disc compilation.
tindolph Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 Thank you for your reply. My mindset was the same as when using backup software which, of couse, saves folders under their hard drive info - hence my confusion. After reading your reply I woke-up and smelled that I was simply the adding everything from different drives to one folder = the BDR. duh! Will prepend folders will drive letter or not mix drives contents. Thanks again.
