Gatting Some Bad BD-R Burns-Verify Not Activated?

I am getting some BD-R backup movie copies where the video freezes and the audio continues on just fine, even though the BDRebuilder log says that the burn was successful.

 

As far as I can tell the ImgBurn Verify process after Write is not activated. How do I activate the full Verify process so I know if I have a bad burn?

 

Is there a way to come back and run a Verify routine after the disc is ejected and ImgBurn is exited? I'm concerned that I may have a large batch of bad backups now and I would like to check (Verify) all my backups.

There's a "verify" checkbox right under where you select the drive you're burning to.

 

As for verifying at a later date.... Go into Verify mode when you first open the program.

 

I ran the Verify process on one of my freezing discs, upon completion I got a "Operation Successfully completed!" message. Log file is below.

 

I tried this freezing disc in PS3 and Oppo83 players and it froze in the exact same spot on both players, these players are better than average players. 

 

I notice that most of my current burns, when I eyeball the discs, are visually only using about half of the available disc space now. Earlier burned discs were using most of the visually available space?

Being a good player and being able to read burnt discs are two different things. It's impossible to say if you're getting decent quality burns from your LG drive without testing them in a drive that can scan BD media (i.e. a LiteOn one). If the disc plays ok on your PC, I'd assume there's nothing (much, anyway) wrong with the files you're burning and it must just be the players are having trouble reading the disc.

 

You can access saved logs via the help menu but BD Rebuilder may be saving them elsewhere and therefore the program wouldn't also be writing to its usual log.

 

The size of what you're burning must be something to do with BD Rebuilder or the source files you're working from. You're right though, you're only using just over half of the disc.

The BD backup movie disc I'm using to trouble shoot with also freezes up in my PC at the exact same spot as it does in my two stand alone players.

In my latest backup burn attempt AnyDVD HD ripped to HDD ok, BD-Rebuilder processed ok and passed the file to ImgBurn which failed at 57% with massive sector errors. I tried 3 different blank discs from a batch used successfully prior, all 3 failed to complete. I had two successful burns on other movies just prior to this attempt.
 
Any ideas for a fix would be most appreciated.

Sorry, I've no idea what's going on there.

 

It's much easier to troubleshoot these things if you make an image rather than burning files on the fly.

 

I don't know how it's possible to have so many miscompares unless the files on the hdd have changed between burning / verification, you've got serious corruption in memory/on the sata bus, or something is modifying the data read from the drive on the fly (AnyDVD type program).

My PC seems to be otherwise running fine.

 

I don't have a clue regarding how to make an image and what to do with it but will try to figure that out?

Rather than clicking the 'write files/folders to disc' button on the initial screen, use the 'create image file from files/folders' one.

 

Or just change the 'Output' to 'Image File' in the menu at the top.

 

I'm not understanding what to do?

 

I put the original BD movie disc in the drive, open ImgBurn, select Create Image File From Files/Folders; I don't see the disc recognized or see what I should do next?

 

In the Source box there is a list of my original movies that have been burned but when I select one I get a "File or Folder does not exist" message.

I guess the ImgBurn step is normally done for you by a 3rd party program?

 

There's a BD Video guide in the Guides forum.

 

Can I use anyDVD HD for this step, if so do I rip to HDD and then go to ImgBurn create image file from files/folders' or do I bring the file to ImgBurn after the BD-Rebuilder process?
