Creating ISO files from files to store on HDD

All,

I have at lot of movies files in different formats that I would like to convert to ISO files to be stored on my external drive.

In trying this with Imgburn I have been able to create the ISO file.   The problem comes in when I take that ISO file and then try to create a DVD.  It goes through writing the ISO file to disc but when I try to play the DVD is has an error that says "no playable data on disc"

I feel that I am missing a step somewhere.

Can any one help get me over this hurdle?

Thanks,

You don't 'convert' to ISO format, you just put the files in an ISO. Think of an ISO as a box... you put things in it but that doesn't change them.

If your player can't play the things you're putting in the ISO, it won't play them once they're in the ISO or on the disc either.

ImgBurn doesn't convert anything, it burns 'as-is'. If you want a playable DVD Video discs, use something like DVDFlick or ConvertXtoDVD to convert your files and then burn the output.

Maybe "convert" is the incorrect term.

1.  I would like to create ISO files to store onto my hard drive.

2.  I would like to be able to burn the ISO image to disc so that it then plays automatically in my DVD players.

What are the steps that I need to do to get the end results I'm trying to achieve?

Thanks
