I have a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Sto N Go Minivan.  It has a built in GPSW/DVD/CD player that plays DVD's from the video store with no problems.  I bought a ton of DVD's from Blockbuster when it was going out of business and I backed them up on my computer.  When I burn them, they work fine, no problems.

THE PROBLEM:  I have a ton of movies that my husband brought back from Iraq when he was deployed that are on a Terabyte that are in different video formats that I have tried to relentlessly burn to DVD, but they won't work in my van DVD player.  My DVD player is a 430N RHB and supports WMA, MP3, JPEG formats.  I read through the manual to see what video format is supported, but found nothing.  I researched over and over again on the internet, but found nothing.  I even called the technical department for Chrysler/Jeep and they just repeated the three same formats to me.

I am DVD/Converting/Burning/Format illiterate.  I need a simplified version from someone that I can easily follow please.  I am an extremely intelligent person when it comes to anything, except technical computer stuff.  I don't need any put downs from anyone or sarcasm as I have had on other sites.  I just need some genuine help.  Thank you.

I get that much, but what is the correct DVD format?  I have dvdflick, but when I burn them by opting to convert to dvd format, it doesn't work in my dvd player in my van.  Is there a specific format that is the video equivalent of WMA, MP3, and JPEG for a movie so it will play in my media player in my vehicle?  Or, maybe I'm just not getting it.  Most of them were saved on the terabyte in .avi or ..mkv containers, but they aren't compatible in my van.  Any suggestions for a video format that would be compatible with a media player that only accepts the three that I listed earlier?

As decribed here, 430N RHB it's a media center that can play those three formats. WMA and MP3 are audio and JPG is picture. http://www.chrysler.com/en/owners/quality/rhb/

It doesn't specify other formats supported but if you play the bought DVD's in it than it sure supports DVD Video http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Video

DVD Flick will do the work to transcode your avi and mkv to the DVD Video specification.

Maybe you are not following the correct tutorial. Here's a guide http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?/topic/4632-how-to-write-dvd-video-files-directly-to-single-layer-media-using-imgburn/

Thank you so much for posting that tutorial!  I definitely needed that.  Can you post a tutorial on how to convert to DVD Video Specification on DVD Flick?  The tutorial for imgburn says it would be easiest if the movie is already in VIDEO_TS format.  How do i get .avi or .mkv to a VIDEO_TS format?  I'm sorry that I'm so conversion and burning illiterate, but once I get this down, my kids will be very happy...lol!

It's not much to explain for DVD Flick. You just import the file, set the target size and the program will take care of the rest.

The program can do all the conversion and burn in one step using ImgBurn.  I'll do it in two steps, first the conversion  than burn the result with ImgBurn if all is right.

You can fiind guides on their page for all operations with DVD Flick. If you can't manage with the guides, head to their forum  for more help and support.
