LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 28, 2014 Share Posted March 28, 2014 Put a new disc in and copy + paste the disc information from the box on the right of the main window please. Whatever the problem is, I very much doubt it's anything to do with ImgBurn. It'll be some issue with your drive/firmware/media combo. LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 28, 2014 Share Posted March 28, 2014 Are you 100% sure that's a new (never attempted to use it before) disc?! The free capacity on it is exactly the same as the source image you're trying to burn... and I really can't see that ever happening. So try some other discs... try every disc in the spindle. It says all the time when verifying the disk device removal detected! The dvd drive is fine and connected to my comp. If the drive is vanishing from the system in the middle of an operation, it's either a bad connection (cable etc) or the command is timing out and the system is resetting the bus - causing the disconnect. LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Your drive is now reporting that the disc has 452111 free sectors. That's another completely abnormal size. Get another brand new disc off the spindle, insert it in the drive and check the disc info in the box on the right again. If it still says the same for 'Free Sectors', your drive or system must be broken. Try booting into Safe Mode and see if the same thing happens. I went to safe mode and then when I choose verify disc the program repeats Initializing disc and No devices detected. If I go back to normal mode it can`t once again verify the disc, though when I choose write image file to disc there is Disc information: free sectors 452 096. I used DVD-R (Intenso 4.7GB) disc should it be DVD+R ? My friend used the same DVD driver and managed to burn ubuntu to a normal DVD so maybe my computer/system is broken? Now I have installed ubuntu 13.10 with DVD without deleting windows, though for some reason I can`t see ubuntu 13.10 in boot loader.
