soward Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I tried to download the latest versions from multiple sies. in each case Mcafee reports an Artemus infection as I start install. "File Deleted - ota-installer.exe Artemis!907C8E97CF7C C:\users\Ted\Appdata\local\temp\nsv30E..." Ted
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 You're downloading from some weird site that's trying to install some downloader program that is nothing to do with me or ImgBurn.
soward Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Actually not, I went to the imgburn site http://www.imgburn.com/# then clicked IMGBURN Download which took me to http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-0434161978769668&output=html&h=15&slotname=2600873847&adk=4231130673&w=728&lmt=1406764541&flash=14.0.0.145&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.imgburn.com%2F%23&dt=1406764541708&bpp=20&shv=r20140724&cbv=r20140417&saldr=sa&correlator=1406764541846&frm=20&ga_vid=761089815.1406734829&ga_sid=1406764485&ga_hid=1480593492&ga_fc=1&u_tz=-240&u_his=14&u_java=1&u_h=823&u_w=1317&u_ah=795&u_aw=1317&u_cd=24&u_nplug=0&u_nmime=0&dff=times%20new%20roman&dfs=10&biw=1317&bih=648&eid=317150304&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.imgburn.com%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcore%26module%3Dglobal%26section%3Dregister&rx=0&eae=0&fc=8&vis=0&abl=CS&ppjl=u&fu=0&ifi=1&xpc=Ej8XJ6xA1P&p=http%3A//www.imgburn.com&dtd=183&rl_rc=true&adsense_enabled=true&ad_type=text&ui=rc:0&oe=utf8&height=15&width=728&format=fpkc_al_lp&prev_fmts=728x15_0ads_al&kw_type=radlink&hl=en&kw0=CD+and+DVD+Burner&kw1=Image+Burn+ISO&kw2=Imgburn+Download&kw3=Imgburn+for+Free&okw=Imgburn+Download&rt=ChBT2YY3AAmoVApFBejnAF_MEhBJbWdidXJuIERvd25sb2FkGghzPF21IZ4LYiC4vZrGAigBSLi9msYCUhMIvYf0wZ7uvwIV4s5ECh2UAQDA from there I clicked Free Download Imgburn which took me to http://softreviews.co/get/imgburn/?pk=845421&source=google&c=SoftRev_IMGBurn_CCCA where I clicked DOWNLOAD FREE and downloaded imgburn-setup and stored on HDD. When I run imgburn-setup I get File deleted SPIdentifierImpl[1].exe then Artemis deleted by Mcafee SAAS. I just re-ran it to confifirm the details. Same issue. Note: after the 1st time I scanned my computer with current Malwarebytes (and it has Mcafee SAAS active) and its clean. Ted
ianymaty Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 That is Google Ads advertisement link as you can see. Look for Download on the blue bar under the big logo . There are 7 mirrors from where you can download ImgBurn v2.5.8.0. The last one is provided by ImgBurn.
soward Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 That came in clean. Thanks. In the mean time I've tried from several other sites (latest was techradar which did a review of several products including yours, http://www.techradar.com/downloads/imgburn) and so far only your own site came without infection. Thanks Ted
