birdman42 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Hi, So I am using a Sony Optiarc 5280s and have gotten some burns from it, and they work fine, but most of the time the device will be "removed" at the closing track section. Obviously I'm not unplugging the drive but when ever it reaches that point it refuses to connect with the drive. Been searching the interwebs but cant find anyone with the same problem. Please help the coasters are pilling up. Im using verbatim disks with default settings and just bought a new usb to sata cable. I 23:21:57 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! ianymaty Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Something is going on with the communication between the drive and the port connected. This error is usualy a problem with the USB adapter/controller or could be a faulty cable. Try other ports available or another cable/adapter.
birdman42 Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) I just recently bought a new cable because someone else suggested this as the problem. However it is one of the cheaper ones on eBay ($3), is It not high enough quality for reliable burns. What would you recommend? Edited August 4, 2014 by birdman42
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I assume using it internally is out of the question? I.e. You're using it with a laptop? What about sata / esata? Your USB controller/adapter is timing out prematurely and the drive is being disconnected.
