VIDEO_TS file is burned to DVD ???

Hello... I've used DVD Flick with ImgBurn for many years, and have never had a problem.  I got a new computer, and I can't get the DVD to burn properly.  I've tried having DVD Flick create an .iso image, and manually open ImgBurn to create the DVD.  I've tried having DVD flick encode and automatically go to ImgBurn to burn the DVD.  I've tried choosing the Video_TS folder in ImgBurn.

I always get the same thing... a DVD with the Video_TS folder copied to it, not a playable DVD.

What am I doing wrong?  Here is the log from the last attempt.  Thank you.  Lisa

when i go to choose the DVD , instead of a movie opening, all I see is 2 files on disk.  not a movie.  this happens whether im burning from DVD flick automatically with ImgBurn or creating an ISO etc.  Please see screenshot.  I've wasted about 10 DVDs.  i've not had this problem in past years.  thank you :)

of course, the last one i burned did play on the DVD player.  i still can't get it to play from the external drive on the computer.  I'm sure it's user error.  Thanks for your reply.

Also....  I'm not sure what I changed, but when I put any DVD in the external drive, ImgBurn starts running automatically.  This just started happening yesterday, so i must have ticked something, but I can't find it.  I have Windows 8 and not sure if I changed something in OS or in ImgBurn.  Any ideas?  Thank you for your assistance.

You can adjust what Windows does when you put a disc in the drive via 'Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs'. Just copy + paste that into the address bar of an Explorer window.

Windows 8 doesn't play DVDs by default, so you'll need a 3rd party application to do it. Try Media Player Classic-HC or VLC etc if you want a free one. For a paid one, PowerDVD.
