Hi,
I burned via ImgBurn a boot cd for a windows 7 enterprise 64 bit system (as described in the imgburn guide), this means I copied the necessary files to the cd and gave the necessary information about emulation type,  boot image, load segment, etc. to the imgburn tool. When I compare this cd with the "official" ms reparation cd, all files and necessary information about boot record volume, boot catalog,  virtual disc are equal - there`s only an additional ISO/Joliet filesystem on the "official" cd.

But when I start the system I get the following message:
 ---------------
Boot Manager:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1.Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
2.Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
3.Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
 ---------------

The offiical reparation cd works fine.

What could be the reason? Perhaps Security? Which device is inaccessible?

Thanks in advance

FileMike

It's a bit hard to answer that without seeing exactly what you did, what your source files were and more technical info about your machine.

Is it even attempting to load from the DVD? Are you using UEFI?

Why are you making another disc if you already have one that works?

If you're customising it, I guess not everything is equal.

Could I ask that you please post the log from the build / burn so we at least have that to look at.

A screenshot of the boot image tab would help too.

Hallo, the file structure of my boot disc is equal to the official “ms win 7 rescue dvd”:

My system tries to load from the dvd (the dvd led is flickering), but then the error message is on the screen. I do not use UEFI.

If you have a working disc, can't you use that?

I don't know why the one you're attempting to build isn't working.

Copy everything off the working disc to a folder and attempt to rebuild a new disc in the same way you've been doing it. Does that work?

If you want to burn a bootable disc it is necessary to have the right burn options besides the content of the disc. So the file system should be "ISO9660 + Joilet", the ISO9660-Restrictions should "Allow Files Without Extensions",  the Joliet-Restrictions should  "Allow Files Without Extensions" and "Add ';1' Version Number To Files" should be checked.

Now the disc boots!

best greetings

FileMike
