lfcrule1972 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 polo is right - when I have burnt at 16x the quality scans using DVDinfoPro have been lower than burning the same .iso at 8x. Seeing as it only saves a minute or so at most I tend to stick 12x now which is a nice compromise.
Harrysmiith Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Which drive do you people recommend as a replacement for my old Pioneer DVR-106 ? If you can still find one buy a BenQ1655 or 1650. Otherwise Liteon or even Samsung but don't be tempted to waste money on a Plextor.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 There's nothing wrong with Plextor, I'd personally take Plextor over Samsung any day of the week!
Simply.Smooth Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 (edited) I just found a BenQ1655 By alot of phone calls & searching . Luckly They had 1 In stock i rushed over and grabed it Edited October 20, 2006 by Simply.Smooth
machser Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 i don't like BenQ as a company and even the logo on the drawer is pretty uncool...no thanx. With Plextor there seem to be some more accuracy in burn-quality and further tools to verify these, what do you think about this add-on...Plextor is known for very good or even mastering quality audio-cds, aren't they ?
cornholio7 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 you are of course entitled to your own opinion , but both of my benq drives out perform my plextor and you have the added advantage of making pi/po scans with the benq's. fwiw mine have no logo on the drawer either
polopony Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 saw an article where some of the Plextors are rebadged Teacs, price always put me off them when you can get an excellent drive for what amounts to half the price
dontasciime Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 As long as the disc plays after burn then i am pleased with all my writers. Not really got a fave, loved plextor cdrw years ago. Only ever owned one plextor dvd writer though a sata one, had to return it under 4 days though as was trying to booktype dvd-r.
