pjcamp Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 As near as I can tell the burn succeeded. I can play the resulting DVD and see all the files on it. Interestingly, this problem started simultaneously with an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I'd suspect a driver problem but Windows reports it is the latest driver. I'd suspect a firmware problem but it has the latest firmware (I flashed it again just in case of corruption). I'm using single layer Taiyo-Yuden disks, and burned over half of a 100 disk spindle flawlessly before the upgrade. I'm more than a little baffled, and don't know whether to trust ImgBurn at the moment. Log follows. pjcamp Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Addendum: Afterwards, it does not recognize that a disc has been ejected or a new one loaded.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 ImgBurn isn't going to lie to you. If it says something isn't right, then at that moment in time, something wasn't right. My guess is that having ejected and reloaded the disc, your drive failed to initialise it properly and probably just reported it as being empty - hence the reason it told you the session count wasn't equal. It expected the drive to report the disc had 1 session, but it told it there were 0 sessions. There's nothing to say that it won't then work fine if you eject and reinsert it a second time or if you try to access the disc in another drive. Have you tried burning at 8x instead or cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc?
pjcamp Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 I've tried 8x. I dialed it down to 4x just to see if that helped. I have to find my cleaning disc and then I'll try that. I think your guess is probably right. After a few times I noticed the error message came up immediately after the tray cycle between write and verify.
pjcamp Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 OK, now, it baffles me why when I put a blank disc in Imgburn claims it is not empty until I close and restart Imgburn.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 You should copy and paste the disc info from the box on the right when that happens so we can see what your drive is reporting.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 That doesn't look blank to me and that's why it won't look blank to the program.
pjcamp Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 But it IS blank. It is retaining the info from the previous burn after the burned disc has been replaced with a blank one.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 That's something external to ImgBurn then.
pjcamp Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Sort of suspect that myself, either in Windows 10 or a driver or maybe firmware. Thanks for the help.
