JRU Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Hi, I tried to copy iso file to a cdrw. While i could see that it finishes the task of writing, on verifying i get the above error message. I could use the dvd wr to see the video and it is perfectly working without any hitch. Why i am getting this error in xp. I have used the latest 2.5.8 version of imgburn. The burn would be success but on verify is failing . Why? i know that the dvd drive support both dvd and cd write.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 It looks like your drive thinks the disc is still empty once the burn has completed and the tray has been cycled. Maybe try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc?

It is repeating the same error. by the by, is my drive capable of writing to cd and dvd. how to find . Now i checked after cleaning whether it could read. i found it is reading and playing movies from the cd dvds. As an alternative, i tried with nero also, it also shows some error and pointing in the last line some registry key entry. I do not know how to decipher it. I am using your program, in windows 7 which does not have any problem. Moreover, when i checked with mrfixit from msoft, it shows, install cd dvd writer. I do not know what it meant. Please. immensely pleased with your prompt replies as and when a reply is posted.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Please take one of the discs you've just burnt and put it back in the drive. Load ImgBurn and go into Write mode. Copy and paste all of the disc info from the box on the right into your next reply.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Yeah so that disc still looks empty to me.... and more importantly, the drive. If all of your discs are coming out 'empty' after you've burnt them, you may just need to buy a new drive as clearly yours isn't functioning properly.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 It's only reading stuff you've burnt in the past isn't it? If everything you burn now comes out as an empty disc, it clearly can't be reading those and something has gone wrong with the burning functionality of your drive. The layout refers to the disc layout. As the error message indicates, the program has detected a problem with it - namely that there should be 1 session on the disc and there are 0 sessions (because the drive still reports it is empty).
