Hello

I am getting the following error while trying to burn a TS-VIDEO folder to a blank DVD:

I/O

DEvice: [1:1:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH41N MN01 (D:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 00 00 0E 50 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 3664

Sense Area: F) 00 03 00 00 0E 50 0A 00 00 03 0F 11 00 00 00 00 00
SK Interpretation: Medium Error
ASC/ASCQ Interpretation: Unrecovered Read Error

What is likely to be the problem, please?

Thanks!

That's your drive reporting a read error, so if you've just burnt a disc and it's verifying it, it means the drive did a bad job of burning.

If you post the log, I'll take a look and advise where I can.

Thanks, Lightening for your reply.

I did the burn on another PC which is 4 miles away.

I will try burning it on my own PC (the one I am on now) and see if I get an error and post back.

Thanks again!

In my own PC, I am now getting this error:

I/O

Device: [3:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GHDON 1.00 (D:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 00 0B 3D 40 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 736576

Sense Area: 71 00 03 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 11 05 00 00 00 00
SK Interpretation: Medium Error
ASC/ASCQ Interpretation: L-EC Uncorrectable Error

ImgBurn is still working in the background, but I may as well cancel it.

Thanks again

Roughly the same issue. The disc isn't readable.

If you could post the log, that would help.

I'd have to assume it's due to low quality media being used or you're burning at a 'less than optimal' speed.

Try setting the write speed to 8x and burn another one.

If that doesn't work you can...

1. try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc

2. try different media

3. try a different drive

As you've already tried the discs in another drive and run into the same problem, it's probably the discs at fault - unless that drive is also dirty / faulty!

Under Tools | Auto Write Speed, I have changed it to 8x (it was Max).

I will try it again. I have used about 6 different disks (different brands) and post back later.
