splinternet Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 I was directed to IMGBURN by your chums at NEOSMART who sent me an iso for MS Vista. I'm using a brand new Panasonic DVD-RAM disc, my laptop is a Lenovo Z51, here is the log. As you see, I started the burn at 11pm yesterday evening. After initial tyre kicking, it seems the burn got underway at 23:15:15 so I turned in for the night. This morning I discover the operation is still underway spewing out what I assume are error conditions ("Failed to Write Sectors xxxxx - yyyyy - Reason: No Defect Spare Location Available") which began after the first 20 minutes of burning. There hadn't appeared to be any indication of media incompatibility with the DVD drive, but is it a safe bet that this is the problem? Where the log says "Retrying...", has this been successful? I would have thought if not, then the whole burn operation would have stopped? I 23:07:46 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Have you tried doing a full format on that discs? If you already have, you should give up with that and switch to different media. Your drive really doesn't like that one.
