I'm copying a CD by creating a Bin file and the process is stuck at (Session1 Track2)

Recommended Posts

I'm copying several CDs and DVDs to preserve my collection of videogames.
Never had an issue before, all the videogames are original and well preserved (all PC games from 1996-2000).

This specific game is a multitrack CD and obviously i can't create an ISO file from a multitrack CD, therefore i was trying to create a .bin file, but suddently it's showing sectors:0 size:0bytes and the process remain stuck at session 1 track2.

I've waited over 40 minutes, restarted, opened Imgburn as administrator, tried some troubleshooting without any progress.

Am i missing something?
It may be caused by the fact that i've reinstalled ImgBurn after several years and may have forgotten some plug-ins i should have installed?

If I had to hazard a guess, it's a Playstation 1 game doing this.  If it is, you've encountered one of the PS1 discs that ImgBurn cannot read with your hardware.  There are certain PS1 games with certain hardware that ImgBurn can't read.  What I've found is for those discs, I use Alcohol 120% to read them in.

Nope, as i said, all the games i'm copying are PC games.
This one is Thief: the dark project (released in 1997) for PC. This in particular is a 1998 edition from Sold Out Software, i preferred this version because i managed to find it new and sealed at an affordable price.

I had the problems you are describing with japanese PS1 games that got separated .bin and .cue files for audio if i remember correctly, in fact i never managed to copy my japanese games for PS1 and always tried to use them less than others as many of those games are already worn out.

Thank you so much for suggesting Alcohol120%! i haven't used that program in ages, iv'e got to learn how to use it all over again i guess

I've noticed that this is a common bug that involved several other users, this is but one of the many posts that describe the same problem, following the linked threads i saw that the issue has never been fixed even tho the Admin was working on it.
