Incompatible Format

I have been using Imgburn for awhile and it seems after I got a new spindle of discs I was unable to burn DVD-Rs using any program on my computer. In Imgburn I get an error message saying E 12:32:11 Failed to Reserve Track! - Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format. My VHS to DVD copier works fine with these discs and I even went out and got another spindle of DVD-Rs made by a different company. Those didn't work so I flashed drive's firmware and its still not working. Am I just vitim of a bad batch of discs?

Thats all, I hit burn and it comes up with the error message...

if i remember rightly , the nec1300 is a +R only writer , so you need +R discs

I maybe wrong, but the NEC's website lists it as a +/- R and +/-RW drive. I could have sworn I used -Rs before, but it could have been +Rs

yeah the 1300 does + and - but the discs you're using (I 12:57:29 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: ProdiscF02)) aren't all that good change media

 

Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are the discs to choose

 

I find it strange that it doesn't list any supported write speeds .

Alright, I'll go out and get some DVDs from one of those companies. Thanks for the help.

When is doesn't list any supported write speeds, it's normally because the media id isn't in the firmware table at all - i.e. it has no idea HOW to burn that media (it's not supported).

the 1300 is pretty old as burners go .I have a 2500 and a 3500
