I'm trying to burn to a DVD+R DL, but I always get an error.

I'm going to try attaching images of the errors.

I'm using my laptop with the plug plugged in. I've taken the battery out. I say this because I see a power error, so I say that that might be the issue (sort of like how to update your PSP, you have to plug your PSP in).

What's wrong?

If you could post a log from the failed burn-verify it would be helpful. This drive appears to be a rebaged Panasonic. After searching around its apparent its not a very good drive at all. There is no firmware updates available for it and it appears to not even be supported by it vendor. A lot of people besides yourself are having problems with this drive. Its too early to say for sure yet, but maybe its time for a new drive. :/ Perhaps one of the others wtll be able to find out more about your problem then I have. :)

Power Calibration Errors are caused by firmware that doesn't fully support the media you're using.

Look for a firmware update or use different discs that the drive does support.

I have a Matshita UJ-840D. I've been looking around, and apparently, this model has a lot of problems.

I found a website telling me to deactivate IMAPI CD BURNING COM SERVICE, which I did. But that did not change anything.

I looked for a firmware update for my drive, but there is none. The closest one is UJ-840S, and I've read that it should still work, but I'm totally clueless about such things, and do not really want to do anything that might mess up my drive.

I am using the best DVD+R DL (at least according to a bunch of people), Verbatim. I think it should be compatible.

You guys have any other ideas?

As kevdriver said, it might be time for a new drive. At least that's the way i would go. Do a search on the forum and I'm sure you will find a number of drives that we have said are good ones. Good luck.
