Hi im new to imgburn, so far seems like really cool software. I really new to burning as well i just bought some DL discs to go with DL burner i installed like a year ago and made my first attempt. Now i bought my media before i discovered your software and ive been reading the forums and found i should be using verb dl disc but i have already bought my media from office depot cause it was on sale ;) (will buy verb dl soon) ive used ripit4me/dvd decrypter to make an iso for img burn and then burnt it on a office depot dl disc the burn was a success and the disc plays on my pc my modded xbox but not on my home dvd player (samsung dvd-611) This dvd player is probably around 5 years old. Ive read in a post that like 75% of problems post r due to improper media, is this what im experiencing? or do i have improper settings? im not sure what logs to include so i will throw in log from ripit and imgburn. Remeber im brand new so go easy on me ;) tnx for your help. btw ive never updated firmware on burner since ive installed it. PS ive burned approx 10 movies that ive shrunk to fit to single layer discs (dynex) and these play on all my dvd players.

I can help with this. The media you are using is not the issue it is your DVD player. I had the same problem until I learned about booktyping. Some older dvd players are made to read dvd-r type media only. With booktyping you change your media to be burned as dvd-rom which can be read by any DVD drive even the older ones. You can change your booktype in the options. There is also a little icon in your tray when you are in write mode. It's on the right side it looks like a open book. It worked for me. Good luck!

That's excellent advice about the booktype stuff, but it's actually automatic with v2.2.0.0 for LG and Samsung drives. :)

the log looks fine , I'd say its the player ,as you know players are really cheap these days and the no name brand play everything you put in them where the high end can be a little picky
