mrk Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Hi all I started today with this great software for burning CD (instead of Nero) It burned the CD perfectly But I missed the option 'finalize disc' when finish burning. Tried to do it manually >Tools>Drive>Close>Disc But I got this Tried to close session and it seemed it worked Then looked for help in forum but I didnt find anything Any idea? Thx
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Post the full log please. I'm guessing your drive doesn't support the command used to determine the current media type and so it's using a 'fall back' function that just tries all the different close methods.

My drive LG GCE-8526B firm 1.2 , but there is 1.5 available But never had a problem before (with nero) Anyway, from what you said I understand that Img tries to close the disc automatically Can this feature be enabled/disabled? Thanks again!
polopony Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 closing the disc is automatic and cant be disabled but if it wont close then you have the option of going to Tools-->Drive-->Close and doing it manually or right click the burner in the destination box you should always keep your firmware up to date ,right click the burner and the last line is firmware update ,new firmware usually has all the new media codes for the latest discs and improved instructions for the drive
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Sorry, I totally misread your original post. I thought that error had popped up when you were just burning normally. I'd expect it to fail if you did it manually - as it's not one that should be called on a CD. As you seem to have found out, ImgBurn always closes / finalises everything.
