kevdriver Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Seminole, you must have something else running in the background thats competeing with imgburn for exclusive access rights to the burner. In CD is bad for this just to name one. Thats what those messages mean. Make sure you have nothing else running in background when you use imgburn to burn.

Dude I know your probly thinking this was a common sense thing but Im kinda new to DVD burning. But I just went to my taskbar and ended alomost everything : ) and now its freakin working. Again thanks a ton dude. Didnt think it was soo simple. Thanks man.
kevdriver Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Glad it worked out for you man. No questions are stupid when your first learning.
polopony Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) you'll be baaack
kevdriver Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Just saw that as well................ USE VERBS
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 This is covered in the FAQ anyway. In vista, the sidebar is also known to use the drive and hence prevent ImgBurn from obtaining exclusive usage of it.
JasonFriday13 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Just saw that as well................ USE VERBS Yeah, nouns don't work too well...... .
groats Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 i have the same problem with image burn and vista ... i have to close my sidebar.exe or use other IO Device like "Patin Couffin" Drivers to get IMGburn run without the "Lock Error" ... But i think that is very strange ... ;-)
cornholio7 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 are you running imgburn by right clicking the icon and choosing run as administrator?
groats Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 same problem if i am running imgburn as admin ... i have to change the ioDevice from Microsoft spti do another one, or to close my sidebar.exe in the TaskManager ... i think that is mega crazy ...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 What gadgets have you added to the sidebar? I don't recall my vista install moaning about locking things with the default sidebar. Changing away from SPTI isn't a magic fix, it just means the command isn't issued and hence can't fail!
groats Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 (edited) Nothing special inside my sidebar, no one of my gadget is using CDROM Access or so ... and offcourse, closing the sidebar isn't a nice fix - lol my sidebar Edited June 5, 2007 by groats
cornholio7 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 i am running more or less the same gadgets as you are but i dont have lock problems. did you use process explorer as described in the faq?
groats Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 (edited) yes offcourse ... now i deletet all gadgests from my sidebar before inserting an empty disc, the sidebar.exe doesn't point to my Pioneer DVR 112 Burner... after inserting an empty disc it does: look here and here's the IMGburn error: IMGburn Lock error ^^ that's pretty uncool :-( P.s. Windows Vista does it again ;-) hrhr Edited June 5, 2007 by groats
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Blimey, 1.09 firmware.... ever considered updating it?! They're up to 1.21 now! If the locking issue cannot be fixed and that silly sidebar won't stop using the drive for no reason, you'll have to disable the 'lock volume' option in the 'Write' tab of ImgBurn's settings.
groats Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 ok updating to the newest FW does it for me ... i searched for a new FW after upgrading my System to Windows Vista and now i am wondering about the official german Pioneer Homepage look here ^^ there's no one new Firmware listed ... Shame about them ;-) P.s. Thank you for helping me with my favorite burning Software ... You are my hero these days !!!!
