Hello, I'm new to these boards since I never knew about its existence until today.

The problem I'm having with ImgBurn as well as DVD Decrypter is as followed.

My dvd drive is a LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165H6S, with Firmware version HS0E (also have HV9N, same results), this drive supports changing the book type. Which works as its supposed to in Nero Burning Rom.

Also the lite-on booktype changer works perfectly normal and detects my book type settings.

However, with both DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn, when I go to the menu to change the book type settings for my lite on drive and check the drop down menu, every setting is correctly set to DVD-ROM, but (unfortunately there's always a but) if I enter any media +r or +r dual layer, the information screen when starting either of the 2 programs (or while its already started and changing a disk) it will always state that the current profile is the book type of the media itself.

Example, currently I have a blank dvd+r dl disk in my drive, it states:

LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165H6S HS0E (ATA)

Current Profile: DVD+R DL

It says this eventhough in the menu all settings are set to DVD-ROM, as well in the original lite on book type change utility, and it also displays the book type settings to DVD-ROM in nero cd-dvd speed.

Except in the entry "Current media" in the drop down menu, it states that the current setting is the book type of the media itself, DVD+R DL and not DVD-ROM. If I select to change this to DVD-ROM in the new settings menu, I recieve the following error:

"Failed!

Reason: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format"

I receive this same error in DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn, it happens both when I try to change the current media to DVD-ROM while I have a DVD+R disk inserted, but as well with a DVD+R DL. I clearly do not understand why I am having this problem since it should work properly, since I've burned several images of video or playstation 2 games using Nero Burning Rom, and selected to change the book type setting to DVD-ROM, and when writing a disk, one of the first messages I recieve in the status screen is that the book type is set to DVD-ROM, also checking the disk after it was successfully written shows that it has a DVD-ROM book type.

If anyone could shed some light to me and hopefully know a solution other then using (aka buying) a different DVDRW drive, please let me know.

Thanks in Advance,

Gard.
