First of all, sorry for the ugly topic I'm not too creative it comes to those <_<

Anyway, I'll try to be as clear as a newbie can be :homestar:

First of all I'm using TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-W163A(latest firmware) and Verbatim Dual Layer DVD-R 4x

What I'm trying to burn is a certain DVD9 PS2[not sure if I'm allowed to say that  ] iso for the second time

due to the first burning going wrong (freeze at layer change point) So I think I'm doing something very wrong.

Anyway, after reading around and getting all sorts of mixed information to confuse me, due to this I've been just test burning

(too chicken wuss to start the actual burning)

Test burn results have been pretty weird, at times it all goes smoothly, but now its been stuck at

synchrosing cache for a long time(over 10 minutes at least)

Earlier after a successful test burn(log above) I decided to give the actual burning a spin, but that ended shortly in this

Anyway, after this I decided to try test burning again, this time it didnt go well.

So, I dont know where should I point the finger of blame, the drive, media or me being a total newbie.

Anyway, any kind of insight on this matter would be very much appriciated and my apologies for the long ass messy post.

EDIT: Changed Vertabim(sounds like some weird drug) to Verbatim

Yeah, I've been meaning to go get some DVD+R DL, only reason I went for the DVD-R DL was because

I've just been using DVD-R in the past due to bad experiences with DVD+R(Years back)

Problem is just that I happen to live in a backwater town where the selection is needless to say.. limited

Distances are also bit problematic, the store only happens to have Verbatim ones in stock.

The second store around here only has IMATION DVD+R DUAL LAYER 2.4X type, but I'm not too familiar on how good Imation is.

Dont waste your money on the Imation discs !!

the only dual layer worth using are Verbatim, eevn if it measn ordering online  PLUS you will get a better choice of media from a reputable online media supplier as opposed to a local store in your area..................I've never seen taiyo yuden discs in a store yet
