Image 1 is what I get, image 2 is what needs to happen.

I have read your posts about this problem and fingers seem to point at a misbehaving drive. Well, okay, but what do I need to do to move on? Ctl-Alt-Del x 2? That seems kind of severe but it has been over an hour...

As in the other user's post, I finished writing to one DVD and it went so well I thought I would do a 2nd. Oops, wish I hadn't.

The program doesn't actually have control at this point, it's stuck while the DeviceIoControl API call is running. Even if you terminate the process, it won't recover because all the I/O subsystem is screwed.

Just reboot the PC.

Unless you can find a tool to force a bus reset, that's all you can do (and even they can often cause a BSOD).

Do yourself a favour and buy some decent discs.

Ohhh, I thought earlier posts said bad drive. But the answer is better blank discs! I can buy better discs - I've read all those posts too.

Thanks,

Jerol

Bad/old firmware and crap media causes most of the problems we see here. Even new drives (like the Pioneer 112D), have serious problems burning CDs with firmware older than v1.21. Updating your firmware and using decent media will help alot.
