(VISTA) Finalize Disc Failed error: Potential WaitImmediateIO Deferred Error

I was hoping someone had some advice as to how I can overcome this error to allow proper finalization of discs. This error occurs when burning to DVD. I have used this program on XP with the same Sony DVD+R's without any issues. But now in Vista I get this error. The program installed fine and read a dvd fine during this attempt through Vista. But it will not finish the burn. =(

After reading and reworking my burning process;

I tried at 4x and everything went fine. I believe I underestimated the amount of cpu and resource power Vista required over what I was able to do with XP.

This is a drive / media issue and nothing to do with which OS you're running.

 

It's quite an old drive you have there actually, ever considered cleaning it / replacing it with a newer model?

Yes, I was considering replacing it with a sata dvd burner. I haven't had any friends that have tried one yet. Waiting on some opinions as to how much better/worse they are.
