blasted Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Right i have a 360 image and i want to get it onto a dual layer disc. I have read umpteen guides and was assured that imgburn would be the best programme for this. So i downloaded imgburn from one of the usual sites. I have a nec 3500a dvd burner and have updated it to the latest liggy firmware. I followed the guide for img burn and have so far failed on five occasions. The first three were burnt to non branded d/l dvds although i was assured they have worked for others. Then i used 2 verbatum dvd-r +, both these failed at the layer break. I set the layer break manually at the correct figure for 360 backups. I dont have the log files. But at first it failed due to power calibartion issues and the second time it was a write error. I cant afford to keep splashing out on dual layer discs, please help.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 If you're already using MKM-001 discs, stop wasting any more and just buy a new drive.
blasted Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Thanks for that, im usnsure of how to find out which type of disc it was. They came in individual cases.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Put it in the drive and look in the little info panel on the right of imgburn's main window. Copy + paste all that info if you're not sure what you're looking for.
blasted Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Just got home and checked one of the verbatum discs it says _NEC DVD_RW ND-3550A 1.07 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R DL Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 4,173,824 Free Space: 8,547,991,552 bytes Free Time: 927:32:74 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x DVD
dontasciime Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 112 should be OK for verb dual layer and 360 Not sure if that drive still has issues burning Cd's My pioneer 111 is ok for 360
blasted Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Thanks for that chaps, is the consensus to drop the drive then?
blasted Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 Been out and bought the Pioneer 112, proceeded to burn back up on a chepo disc first, just to test. Went straight through, no problems. I still have to test it out though. Thanks chaps.
