Stever, Sounds like a authoring problem. Img will only burn what its told to burn. Sounds ( no pun intended ) like there was no audio picked for the image during authoring. Hence Imgburn burn't the image with no sound. :|

are the speaker turned on duh. why didnt i think of that. no seriously. dvd player as in sits on top of the television type of dvd player. you have the picture you have the sound type of dvd player cause i use an s video cable to connect the two. when i hit the options button about the disk,(this is all on the dvd player it a toshiba that has divx and a bunch of other things installed.) it tells me that there are two things the format of the vid and the type of sound be it stereo or mono.

@donta - under the spec, all 5.1 is automatically downmixed to stereo when required

Nope sorry you got that slightly wrong a couple of my dvd players will not downmix to stereo automatically unless specified in settings on dvd player.

Especially the ones that allow 5.1 output from 6 rca connectors.

To the original poster

Try the original or another original dvd in your dvd player and see if you get sound.

If still no sound check your connections and check which format is being output from dvd player.

Then, those players are off spec (of course, many players are in some way or another, but I haven't heard of any that don't downmix properly).

its something im doing wrong with imagburn. have not figured that part out yet. i have tried the software 12 different ways normally i would just make a data disk and it will play in my dvd player. but for some odd reason this movie im trying to burn wont work. it is in mp4 format. i have tried to make it into an avi file an mpeg file and no luck what so ever. im just going to say to hell with it! i have spent close to 500.oo bucks u.s. on software and nothing is working. thanks for all the imput and help. if i could send this file to someone else and they could try it i would. because this is one headache i dont need. lol. i have been making movies from the interenet for a couple of years now and this one is kicking my arse. lol

it is in mp4 format.

you have to convert it into a DVD compliant structure , ImgBurn then burns the data to disc . ...........................................................Google is your friend

basically ................yes , it is you and not the program

ImgBurn will burn any Image/iso that you want, but for it to play on a DVD player , it MUST be a DVD Compliant structure.

An MP4 file isnt DVD compliant, so you need to make it DVD compliant , hence Google is your friend
