Instead of an .ISO

HI,

 

So far, leaving ImgBurn settings as they are upon install, I get an .ISO image file when I really need an exact duplicate of the disc going into the drive.

 

Video_RM & Video_TS

 

How do I set up Image Burn to do as I seek?

Sorry, you're going to have to explain it a bit more fully.

 

What do you have at the moment and what do you want to have at the end of it?

 

Do you have a disc you're trying to read or do you have some files on your hdd you want to burn?

 

Do you want to make an image file or do you want to burn to a new blank disc.

 

If you know what you're trying to achieve, I'm sure the guides in the 'Guides' forum will give you a clue as to how to do it.

Hi, on a disc, I have a Audio_RM & a Video_TS folder both need to be copied over to the PC as is.

 

Upon first attempt the content of the disc (as above) was read as and copied over to as an ISO file.

 

ISO will not play on a home theater unit so I need to get from the disc, the Audio_RM and Video_TS folders from the DVD drive to the Hard Drive using ImgBurn but how?

 

After that, I will burn them as they were on the disc but on the hard drive to a new disc.

 

If there is a "how to" would you point the way?"

Use build mode to burn. The VIDEO_TS will pick up the correct DVD Video files and the root content (being the AUDIO_RM) will be burned as DVD-ROM files. In the process, an empty AUDIO_TS folder will be created, as required by the DVD spec.

 

If you are using read mode to get files on the PC, what you will get is an ISO with the proper structure. You can extract the folders and files from the ISO using ISOBuster or WinRAR.

Why does it sound to me as though you want to take the folders off the original disc and put them onto your hdd, then burn a new disc from the files on you hdd?!

 

If that's what you want to do, just use Read mode to make an ISO (disc image) and then use Write mode to burn the disc image back to a new disc.

 

Your new disc will be an exact copy of the original.

Y'all got the right idea, it's that what ImgBurn gave me is a .iso file. Are you saying implement the iso file into build mode and that will extract the video and audio ts folders?

No.

 

1. You can burn the ISO onto a disk using write mode (Ctrl-Alt-W). Select the ISO and press the big green button. This effectively duplicates your disk.

2. You can extract the files from the ISO using ISOBuster or WinRAR. Easier still might be to copy them over from the disk itself using Windows Explorer as the files are undoubtedly not protected (it's a TV/home movie recording, right?).
