LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 You've not done anything wrong there. What players have you tested it on? What makes are they? Does the disc play on the PC? Enable 'Verify' next time you burn, at least you'll know the burn went ok that way. For better burn quality you should stick to 2.4x as a write speed on those discs.

Enable 'Verify' next time you burn, at least you'll know the burn went ok that way. For better burn quality you should stick to 2.4x as a write speed on those discs. plays fine on the pc. i tried it on my xbox, jvc and pioneer. i know it burned fine cause it does play perfect on my pc...what could cause it to not play on any of my dvd players? i guess ill try to change the write sped to 2.4x but im tired of wasting dvds
Movie Junkie Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 If you haven't deleted the ISO files you can still use ImgBurn to verify the disc you burned against the ISO.
Movie Junkie Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 No dvd-rom I don't understand what you are saying. Please explain it.
brett Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 what do you mean no dvd-rom? dont use dvd-rom or i didnt use dvd-rom?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 What message do the players throw up? There's gotta be some clue in there somewhere as to why they won't play it - unless they just don't support the discs or something. I think donta was talking about the booktype. Is it set to DVD-ROM ?
dontasciime Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 i picked a ifo break layer. or write type dao..i dont know how it changed to dao, it used to be on dvd rom I think donta was talking about the booktype. Is it set to DVD-ROM ? Yep that was what I was referring to.
brett Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 im pretty sure its set to dvd-rom..my xbox says it cant recognize it and the jvc and pioneer just don't play it at all...no error message or anything..i know they're capable of playing dvd-dl disc cause they played my memorex dvd dl...how do i make sure its on dvd-rom? i know i changed it once before but forgot how
dontasciime Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 put the disc you are trying to play[the one you just copied] into your writer then open ImgBurn and copy the info from the right hand side pane and post it.

brett Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 (edited) hmmm what does Status: Incomplete mean? sounds like a problem to me.. Edited August 18, 2007 by brett
dontasciime Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 And that is one that refuses to play/ work etc. Your xbox chipped
brett Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 my xbox isnt chipped but i know it plays backup dvd and dvd dl
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 'Status: Incomplete' is indeed a bit iffy. According to the log it closed fine... most odd. (Could have been a different disc I guess?) Try going through the Close Track/Session/Disc options again manually. (do them in that order and dont worry if it errors out) You can find them in the 'Tools -> Drive' menu.
brett Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 eh, i just found out theres a new firmware for my drive gonna update it and restart and try it again...thanks for the help everyone..ill report back and tell you how it goes

jasmin_gurl Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 i am having the same problem. the status is "incomplete" and it's set to DVD-ROM. how do i change it so it's not set to DVD-ROM? i've tried lookin at the settings but do not see anything that'll jump at me. i tried it on my phillips dvp642 player. mmalves Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 i am having the same problem. the status is "incomplete" and it's set to DVD-ROM. how do i change it so it's not set to DVD-ROM? i've tried lookin at the settings but do not see anything that'll jump at me. i tried it on my phillips dvp642 player. I have that same player and it doesn't care about the booktype Disc Information:Status: Incomplete Please try and follow LIGHTNING UK!'s advice posted above and see if it solves your problem.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Weird, your disc is showing it has 2 sessions on it. That's not something ImgBurn v2.3.2.0 has done, it doesn't do multisession and will always totally close the disc after burning.
brett Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 should i make an iso before i burn it with imgburn? or it doesnt make a difference and just building it to a dvddl is fine??

brett Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 updated my firmware and get this nice msg now...ruined another 2 disks...think its time for a new dvd drive
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I'm sure that drive can't be that old... it's still a current model! Pretty bad if it's died already. Hope the new drive works ok for you.
