sudeki300 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 this is my first post on this forum so i would start by saying hello to everyone.i have been using imgburn for a while now.i was doing a burn this morning when i got the message "W 16:35:18 Waiting for buffers to recover.../W 16:35:30 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level... this always seems to be at the point when it's starting to burn on the second layer.on the burn this morning it only showed the message once and then carried on burning with no problems till the end of the disc.but on the burn just now it showed the message quite a few times.i'm not sure if it's the software or something with my laptop.i'll let you know what i'm using just incase this is the problem.i have a pioneer 111d internal but i'm using it with a ide to usb connector as i have a laptop.i have tried caddies before but have gave me loads of trouble.i'll post my log off the last burn to give you more of an idea what i'm talking about.thanks................sudeki300 I 16:16:10 ImgBurn Version 2.0.0.0 started! mmalves Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 That message appears when, for some reason, your HD couldn't sustain the transfer speed needed for burning. To avoid that, defragment your HD and don't use "heavy" programs while burning. Also, please upgrade to the latest ImgBurn available.
sudeki300 Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) thanks for the reply.i've seen you avatar on another forum maybe maxconsole or something like that.i always close all programs before burning.i'll defrag my hd before the next burn.i'll keep you posted..................sudeki300 p.s. i saw on another thread something about checking my DMA settings, go into Device Manager and look in the IDE Controllers branch.but as mine is on a laptop and connected by usb this would'nt apply to me would it?..............sudeki300 Edited August 27, 2007 by sudeki300
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 DMA wouldn't apply to the burner if it's USB, but it could apply to the hdd.
