aruzinsky Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 How do I copy a directory containing regular files from my computer hard drive to a DVD so that later more directories can be copied to the same DVD? Is this an obvious question and, if so, why isn't it answered in FAQS?
cornholio7 Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 you can't . use a packet writing software such as nero
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 If you want that kind of functionality might I suggest you buy yourself a USB Memory Pen/Stick thingy. They're far better suited to the task. Use CD/DVD's when you know you've got everything you want/need on the disc - i.e. to archive it.
chewy Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Rainier_(packet_writing) nero 7 sure had problems with xp, nero 8 or Vista(ultimate bloatwares) probably still won't get it to work right it seems that more and more dvd burners are coming out with dvd-ram, does anyone think that will take off and be practical for this use? or are you running into the same problems all over again? even at 4 gigs the usb drives are limited
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Well then hopefully the 8gb and 16gb ones won't be so bad If you need more than that on removable storage, you should get an external hdd!
aruzinsky Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 you can't .use a packet writing software such as nero Shouldn't that be in the FAQs? The only reason I came here is that somebody recommended ImgBurn as a replacement for Nero here: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp...essage=25117703 .
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 You're just about the only person to have ever asked the question, so it's hardly worthy of going in the FAQ! You're also probably 1 in 10000 to actually use packet writing software - everyone knows it's very closely linked to the Devil and to avoid it like the plague.
chewy Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I confess, I used packet writting software in 1998 with windows 95/easy cd and my first cd burner didn't work even back then
spinningwheel Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Right chewy...but...confession is good for the soul....
LOCOENG Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 my first cd burner I'm sure that one can be found buried somewhere in the backyard next the cat.
