ostis Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 (edited) Have you got any other media to try with it. Which motherboard do you have ? Sorry no other media right now.. got a MSI motherboard.. (MS-7125) burner connected to sata 3, got 2 HD on 1 and 2... Edited October 8, 2007 by ostis
dontasciime Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Are you using nvidia drivers for IDE/SATA or just MS default ones also how have you got SATA assigned in Bios. B4 messing on would be better if you had some other media to try like Taiyo Yuden TYG02 or Some Verbatim with MCC code And your def not using sata 5,6,7,8 edit maybe try them at 8x
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Seeing as how it errored out the split second it started to write, I'd have to guess the drive has issues with that media code. I'd dig a disc using that MID out myself, but knowing my luck it would work!

Hmm didn´t understand all of that:P but yes it errored very fast... an other thing, on the old burner i used (dont know what you call it:P) a wide cable, read somwhere hera that the old one was something with 40 and the new one you should buy was somthing with 80... but tha cable i´m using now is much smaler and atached to the sata instead of that other what to call it port however, can this have somthing to do with the problem?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 See, I knew it would work for me! http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=54612
chewy Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 the latest drive I could find for that chipset was WinXP IDE SataRAID Driver (v6.66) "WHQL" WinXP IDE SataIDE Driver (v6.66) "WHQL Release Date: July 7, 2006
dontasciime Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I have the same chipset on a couple of my mobos and I never use the nvidia IDE driver's as they are far too much trouble sometimes than they are worth and no disadvantage to using just plain ole ms drivers. I was going to buy one of those samsung drives then forgot. Wonder who sells em the cheapest in UK and delivers via city link or other than royal mail.
ostis Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 See, I knew it would work for me! http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=54612 ok:) but how should i do to get it work? new media?
dontasciime Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 You might just have a bad batch, better off trying something of quality though eg Taiyo Yuden 8x or verbatim media
chewy Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 donta, so if it's running in ide emulation, then xp picks it up without any sata drivers?
dontasciime Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 In most cases yeah. (F6) drivers are diff to the nvidia ide drivers though in the sense you may need the sata driver at f6 but do not have to install them after windows goes in
