lxndr Posted October 11, 2007 Share Posted October 11, 2007 I apologise if this has been asked and answered before but I have read everything I could find on it and am still a little confused. I would like to burn out AVI files to a blank DVD which are slightly greater than 2Gb in size (probably around 2.1Gb). If I've understood correctly Nero 6 (which I used to use) won't let me do this because it uses an old implementation of ISO9660. I have therefore installed ImgBurn but am unclear what file system I should choose when building the ISO image. I'm tempted to use ISO9660 + Joliet but had read somewhere else that I should use UDF ... Img Burns offers: ISO9660 ISO9660 + Joliet ISO9660 + Joliet + UDF ISO9660 + UDF UDF Can someone advise which one I should choose. Thanks in advance. All of them support individual files up to at least 4GB in size, but UDF allows beyond that. Some standalone players (or media centres on ps2 etc) might only like ISO9660 + Joliet (i.e. NOT UDF). Computers would probably rather see UDF - so long as you're not running Windows 3.1 / 95. If you JUST use ISO9660 you're limited to short file names - unless you adjust the 'Restrictions' options. So basically, try the one with all 3 and if you can see/play your files how you want them to, stick with it. If not, try one of the other options.
