dontasciime Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 change media drive does not like it. where did you get the firmware for that drive as device in ImgBurn is being reported as dru820a - firmware revision for that is 1.0c Is that drive a Sony usb product or did you put the drive into enclosure yourself ? Or have you somehow managed to put the 2.0b firmware from a dru 820U / L into the drive(if so might be broken now) or is it a dru 820U / L ? If the drive is a Sony DRU 820U / L then there is a new firmware for it 2.0d Also over usb slow down your burn to 8x
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 You can google 'Power Calibration Error' and find the cause. Software used shouldn't come into it, but if it's using Incremental over SAO/DAO (as ImgBurn defaults to), that could be the reason. Sometimes, in certain situations, one may work where the other doesn't.
chewy Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Sony DRX 820U is the drive and sony's update for firmware is http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/drx820udwn.htm
dontasciime Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Sony's naming has always been slack as the drx comes under dru as well (check out their site and rpc1) like download that firmware from link you posted and it will be dru 820ul Edit I also notice rpc1 say Sony DVD RW DRU-820UL - 2.0c, 2.0d Note: You must install the Interface Firmware 4.63 (below) before applying Firmware 2.0c. Interface Firmware 4.63 then link however to Sonys site is dead
chewy Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I like "chef" et all but their job is a thankless one, rpc1 is a hopeless task, google is our "best friend" donta sony be damned, give me a crossflash and be done with them matey!
dontasciime Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I searched on google for the interface firmware , no luck. I was however being distracted by a pair of beauties.
