DVDRAM vs DVD - or - R

Hello fellow burners

I have the ImgBurn V. 2.3.2.0, that show in the ImgBurn window a destination HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA 4020B (E: ).

With the above I can only burn DVD RAM’s, my Q is: How can I Change the distination to DVD + or – R’s ?

There is something very wrong if your drive only allows to burn onto dvd-ram.

 

which version firmware is in the drive.

 

what brand media are you using as well.

The 'DVDRAM' you're seeing there is just the name LG gave their drive. It doesn't have anything to do with the media it's currently configured for.

 

If you actually have an issue burning other media with the drive, please post a copy of the log so we can see what's going wrong.

Its a very old drive from as far back as 2002 , whose specs only went to 2x for -R media

DVD-R 2x

DVD-RW 1x

DVD-RAM (1x?)

CD-R 12x

CD-RW 8x
