Underling
bought myself a liteon burner some months ago and it worked perfectly, then I bought a new computer and moved the liteon burner there, but now I cant burn at speed slower than 4*, and if I burn at 4* the quality gets so low that my wii wont read it. The strange thing is that I always used the same media(verbatim dvd-r) and burner all the time, I just changed computer. tried to do a test burn, that went fine but the problem is when I try burning: I 15:47:04 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! LOCOENG
Why are you burning so slow? A new PC with your burner and the TY media should be able to burn much faster.
Underling
because my wii is very sensitive on the quality, it should be able to work on 4* too but seems like my wii is very picky on that.
LIGHTNING UK!
TYG03 is premium media, you might find 12x and 16x actually produce better quality burns than 2x and 4x. They build these new burners for top quality at top speed.
dontasciime
My liteon 20A1P is very poor for writing Wii games using good quality media + or - at 4x 1 works 2 do not. It's more to do with your writer than the disc's. As soon as I started writing the same disc's using one of my benq 1650 @4x everyone since has worked. So if the your LH-18A1P is anything like the 20A1P you might be better off getting another drive to do Wii stuff. Or get some DVD+R and set the booktype to DVD-ROM using your liteon and see if that makes a difference when burnt at 4x
Underling
The strange thing is that ive been using the same media and burner all the time and it always worked before. Have no idea what it might be tho, powersupply?
dontasciime
when you say same media / media in one box or the next one you order is never the same. What size psu is in your new comp or can you not put the drive back into the computer you took it out of.
Underling
well I bought this new comp so I didnt have to use the old comp anymore, so would hope there was a different solution to it, using the intel quad cpu, 2.4mhz, 4gb ram, vista 64bit
dontasciime
well you could see if it still works in the older comp or just buy a new drive
Underling
got a response from liteon, they told me that the problem was vista, liteon burners produced before april didnt have support for vista. Anyone got any recomandations on burners that do have support for vista and is good for 360/wii backups?
dontasciime
umm my liteon 20A1P was made when they first came out and has no problems with vista. I think i read there are drm issues with liteon drives and vista gonna now re search and see if i can find it. edit http://forum.digital-digest.com/archive/in...hp/t-82146.html will now read it fully
Underling
looks like the easiest solution to this problem is buying a new burner. But just wanna make sure it doesnt have problems with vista 64bit.
Underling
Cant find any place in norway I can get pioneer 112, but I can get pioneer 112d or 212, is there much difference? and anyone knows if its working? "The DVR-112D dual-format drive provides identical write performance to the DVR-112 multi-format drive, but excludes DVD-RAM writing support, thus enabling consumers to select a DVD writer which is best-suited to their exact storage needs." Isnt it the dvd-ram settings I need to backup 360s? Remember I changed some bit settings to something like that on my old liteon. LIGHTNING UK!
DVD-RAM is a totally different format of media - in the same way you get DVD+R and DVD-R.
Underling
so 112d should work for 360 backups then:) thanks for all you advices:)
Shamus_McFartfinger
Just don't burn CDs with it. My Pioneer 112 refuses to burn CDs. Go figure.
