drivel Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I have a Samsung SH-S183L burner that I've owned for about 5 months. It suddenly stopped burning discs of all different kinds. I was initially thinking crappy media problems; I usually buy the cheap stuff. But then I tried running the burn in test mode, and it still failed to complete the burn. It's giving me I/O errors. I'm thinking the drive is crapping out, even though it's still reading just fine. I was just looking for a second opinion. Below is my error log. I also attached the screen shot of the error. LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 You've got DMA issues. Check your motherboard bios / drive firmware / cable to drive. Update or replace where required. Then follow the DMA post in the FAQ.

Then follow the DMA post in the FAQ. Yeah, I tried all these things. Then I realised, "Windows sucks. It's probably Windows sucking." I reinstalled Windows. Works like a charm. Thanks for the help.
