sollipsist Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 likely a stupid question, but... I have an empty ImgBurn folder that I can't delete. I get the "being used by another person or program" error message. I did a registry search and all obvious references to ImgBurn have been deleted. Still no luck. It's actually showing as ImgBurn(2)...I probably inadvertently tried to install twice and was left with a duplicate. What should I be looking for in order to remove this folder? If I can't, it's no big deal...there's nothing in there anyway! But it makes me nervous that something is accessing it enough to prevent a simple delete...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Use process explorer to figure out what it is that's got a hold of the folder. Just load it up and search for 'ImgBurn'. This isn't something ImgBurn is doing. You should be able to delete it whenever you want. I certainly don't do anything to prevent it.
cornholio7 Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 you could try unlocker http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
blutach Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 And if that doesn't work, reboot your machine. But more importantly, why in hell would anyone wanna delete ImgBurn? I think it a wonderful idea to have 2 instances loaded! Regards
sollipsist Posted November 20, 2007 Author Posted November 20, 2007 Thanks all- especially for the lightning-fast responses (and lack of abuse)! Problem easily solved with Process Explorer & a reboot.
