LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 What does the message in the statusbar of the main window say? It'll tell you why it's not ready - as reported by the drive itself. You might be able to get away with just ejecting + reinserting the disc manually. You might also like to consider updating your drives firmware: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2110

You might also like to consider updating your drives firmware: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2110 updated the drives firmware. the tray does open/close but then hangs. message reads "device not ready. medium not present" repeated manual ejecting/reinserting eventually got it started. disk? LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 It's not hanging, it's just waiting for the drive to become ready. Yes, it looks like a disc problem. The drive is failing to initialise it properly having just burnt it. If I were you i'd ditch the ricoh's and get some verbatims instead.
