sabio Posted December 3, 2007 Share Posted December 3, 2007 I've tried to burn a couple of DL disks from ISO+MDS images with the latest ImgBurn version (2.3.2.0). And they both have an error. When trying to read them back one file on each disk (I guess the one that is at the layer break point) has a read error. When burning the disks I remember there was a warning message in the log. Something like buffer underrun (don't remember exactly). And again it seems it was right at the layer break point. Later I tried to burn the same image with Alcohol 120% and the disk reads fine. So the question is: is there anything I can do to help you spot the problem and fix it in the next version? (hope it will be released quite soon ) Or if it's just my hands could you please help me find what needs to be changed (in my settings?) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

E 21:38:57 Failed to Read Sector 2015392 - Unrecovered Read Error Because you get errors near the edge of the disk with inferior media. But as I said in the first post, I've tried to burn the same image onto the blank from the same box. With Alcohol 120%. And the disk reads fine. While both of ImgBurn's have an error. Can't that be some misinterpriting of Alcohol's MDS format by ImgBurn? I'm planing to burn another couple of the similar disks with Alcohol. If you're interested I could post results here. On shitty media (like the junk you are using), the drive craps out (especially near the edge - ie the layer break - where the media is most vulnerable). Simple as that. Why fight it?
