Another DVD DL issue

Hi all

 

I'm new here, so hope you can help (thanks for having me too!)

 

I have a new AOpen DVD DL writer (BenQ DW 2000?) and it burns normal DVD5's fine

 

As soon as I try and burn a DL one (using Imgburn) it gets half way through (presumbaly to the point where it does the layer change?) and then bombs out with a write error

 

I am using Zero Defex (cheapy) DVD DL+R's. The drive won't allow me to burn any slower than 4x (even though i force 2x in the settings) and i wonder if this is the problem - it always shoots up to 4x speed.

 

or is it something else ie: firmware

 

hope you an all suggest something as i've just created 5 coasters with different settings !

That will tell you to use Verbatim 2.4x +R DLs only (MKM-001). Not el cheapo, I admit, but el goodo.
