I use DVD shrink to back up my DVDs into Video_TS format and use ImgBurn to burn them.

I haven't had problems before but the past 3 DVD's I've tried I've had problems. It gets to 99% and then I get this:

burnproblems.jpg

I have a Matshita UJ-841s drive and I'm using TDK DVD+R discs. I've burned movies with about 6 of these discs so far with no problem. Now I keep getting these errors.

Here is my log too.

Google DVD Shrink. As for the other problems, we'd need to have a look at those logs to pinpoint the problem. I would suspect your iffy drive and choice of blank media would weigh heavily in the other problems you are expericencing.

It warned you it wouldn't fit.

W 20:21:27 User accepted disc space warning and is attempting to overburn!

I have exactly the opposite "problem" and, since this is the first time I've used ImgBurn, I'm a bit confused at the outcome. I had a folder with over 6 GBytes of graphic files (.tiff and .bmp). I didn't really know how to use the software, so I just decided to try to burn the folder and see if it would allow me to split it over two disks. I got NO errors and NO warnings and ALL of the files seem to be on the disk.

The files are an InDesign project and include fonts, images, and the InDesign (.indd) file. So I opened the InDesign file from the imation DVD+RW disk with NO errors. Is there some compression happening that I should be aware of. Since I want to send the project to the printer on Monday, I'm a little nervous.

I've since RTFM and know a bit more and will re-burn the project onto two disks, but am still curious as to how I got 6.5 Gigs onto one single density DVD.

Curious minds want to know.

And thanks for the software. If I can make it work you will certainly receive a donation from me. After all, I just wasted $30 on a pile of junk that only wants to recognize "media" files - as if DATA was dirty word.

Peace, Jim (|:{>

You'd have been better off starting your own thread jimjr.

I can only assume it wasn't 6GB in the first place or you had certain options enabled / disabled that meant files were being missed / optimised (where duplicates are combined).
