Pay919 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I've got a little problem. I set my write speed to 1.0x and then it ends up burning at 4.0x
sneaker Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) I've got a little problem. I set my write speed to 1.0x and then it ends up burning at 4.0x Your burner probably doesn't support 1x burning of the cd/dvd you are using, so imgburn burns with the nearest supported speed. LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Not so much 'ImgBurn burns with the nearest supported speed' as the drive does. ImgBurn will always tell the drive to burn at the speed you've selected. It's down to the drive to honor that (or not).
Pay919 Posted February 4, 2008 Author Posted February 4, 2008 Oh ok thanks. Anyways I'm burning Super Smash Brothers for the wii so i want it to be the best quality so there are no disc read errors
LOCOENG Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Burning too slow can be just as bad as burning to fast.
Pay919 Posted February 4, 2008 Author Posted February 4, 2008 I guess so, but from what I've heard from everyone, the lower the speed you burn wii backups, the better the wii is at reading it
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 You'd need to perform some tests before you could come to any sort of conclusion here. That would basically involve burning a few discs (of the make/MID in question) at each speed and then scan them all to see which is really the best one. You'd probably want to scan them in a mixture of drives too (i.e. Plextor, BenQ and LiteOn) and then take the average.
Pay919 Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Thats too much work for me, lol. I'll just stick with 4x speed =] Only reason i wanted to do 1x was because brawl is a special game, haha =].
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 lol don't worry, I was thinking out loud rather than saying 'this is what you should do'
