dirio49 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) How can it be that burned with one drive it shows 0.0 % quality(benq) and in another one 96%? That is truly something. If not, it says thats the best media money can by P.S. Thanks LUK for these tests. Edited January 12, 2006 by dirio49
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 How can it be that burned with one drive it shows 0.0 % quality(benq) and in another one 96%? Who the hell knows? CMC MAG media are "hit and miss" at the best of times. It wouldn't surprise anyone to see radically different results between several tests.
chewy Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) Benq's are notoriously picky about media and cmc mag's are very inconsistent within spindles? Interesting results from overspeeding at max in the 8x medias, just hope the benq holds up till the new ones arrive, what a task! It's having to burn it's share and scan? LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I'm not actually doing any custom overspeeding here.... I'm using default settings for all 'extra' features the BenQ offers. If the drive says it can burn at faster than the media certified rate, I believe that's its makers choice and they should pay the price if things don't work out!!! Regarding the whole 0% - 96% quality thing, that rating is only good for the drive that achieved it and the firmware revision in use at that time. So you can't say it's the best disc, just that it burns ok on that drive. One that's consistent across a range of burners would generally be considered the best I guess!
chewy Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I have been using 3 computers to test my library of older burns, after replacing 50 disks and scanning 100, I wish I had documented it. My hat is off to you LUK!
