Kingpinlegend1 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Whenever I try to change the booktype for the selection under the tab Nu Tech for Driver (For DVD-RW Media) It gives me the current setting as DVD-RW but when I try to change it to DVD-ROM setting, it gives me the error reading Failed! Reason : Invalid Command Operation Code. Thus I cannot change it and burn my disc correctly. Help would be extremely appreciated because this has been extremely nerve racking. Thanks. --Kingpin
JasonFriday13 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Only +R and +R DL can be booktyped to DVD-ROM. +RW, -RW and -R can't be done.
Kingpinlegend1 Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 Only +R and +R DL can be booktyped to DVD-ROM. +RW, -RW and -R can't be done. Ok. Well I tried to change the setting for the driver DVD+R but it wont even let me change anything. It wont even give me the selection. Could this be due to my driver in my computer?
chewy Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 +RW , -RW and -R can't be done. JasonFriday13 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 (edited) Since ImgBurn only says +R and +R DL, I thought +RW couldn't be done, at least I haven't been able to yet. What drive is it? It's probably old and doesn't support booktyping, or ImgBurn doesn't know how to set it to that particular drive. Write Mode -> copy + paste text in the right panel into your next post. Well, for some reason I need to change the booktype in order for my Wii to read the disc correctly. Any ideas on how to fix this?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 1. Get a drive that supports changing the booktype on DVD+R / DVD+RW media. 2. Get DVD+R / DVD+RW discs.

chewy Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 In the USA newegg? UK svp get an external or better yet build your own with a proper enclosure with good chipset http://club.cdfreaks.com/f58/5-25-nec-chip...alsonic-236983/
Kingpinlegend1 Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 Could I find this kind of driver at a local store like Bestbuy? Or is this kind of driver only available online? Because I would rather go somewhere local than ordering online.
spinningwheel Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 You can try Best Buy Or Circuit City, but I would go to CompUSA or some other big box computer store rather than trying them since you want to deal with someone who knows what they are talking about rather than a sales clerk who hasn't finished high school yet.

Your drive is a Samsung, and ImgBurn automatically booktypes +R media on those drives, provided that the drive accepts the command. By the way, if you feel adventurous, you could crossflash your burner to a Samsung SH-S162L (latest TS08 firmware) and possibly improve the quality of your burns
