LIGHTNING UK!
Ok so the drive is failing to write to the media. That's generally why every DL related post you'll see on this forum tells the poster to use Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL discs. They work where others fail. vitek
Hi all, I have the same problem. I run Widnows XP in the Parallels Desktop. I am using the Verbatim DVD+R DL (made in India). My drive is HL-DT-ST DVDRW GWA4080MA AE39 (macbook pro). I do not know what to do, these verbatims weren't so cheap ;-) Please, someone help, i bough bunch of them ;p
vitek
I have been experimenting for a while, and i decided to change the book type. I read somewhere that my drive is the LG drive, but everytime i choose the LG drive i get message in the same window: Invalid field in CDB. If i decide to write with this error i get message that burn is failed because of the invalid field in parameter list
LOCOENG
Your firmware may not provide for bitsetting. You could try tdb's modified firmware to see if it will enable the feature ~ http://tdb.rpc1.org/#GWA4080MA EDIT: Your firmware is newer though. vitek
Thank you for your reply. LOCOENG
I've never regretted using modified firmware...but I'm a PC user, not a Mac user and don't know if there is a difference in write strategies or a benefit for that matter.

Marco Spronck
Hello, I'm having a Acer 5920 laptop. Always used Verbatim+r DL. Without any problems. I had some issues with my wireless so I set back te Acer image (And did sevrall times the windows update). Installed again IMGBURN. When I tried to burn a image the laptop froze. So I did a hard reset. After this action I get every time this faillure. I 12:41:42 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! LIGHTNING UK!
You're using discs that have already failed. Use a new one and it'll either work or you'll get a different message. You did the right thing in ignoring the LB error - it was moaning because it's already been set (and you can't set it twice)
nodster
I havent been able to find these Verbatim discs, but i have tried 5 different DL brands and keep getting this 'LO data zone capacity' error message. I was wondering whether it could be my burner that needs replacing? I have been told that the Pioneer drive is best for backing up 360 games. Currently, i am using a LiteOn drive Any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks Edited March 15, 2009 by nodster
Cynthia
Hi and welcome to the forum, nodster! What model of Lite-On do you have now? Latest firmware installed? You could post a burning log from one of those failed burns. But it might very well be as you say, that error message is common when the burner doesn't support the media.
