LIGHTNING UK!
Does it list things like 'Changes Available' ok? Which option are you trying to set? A temporary one? Quite often you can only configure the 'DVD+R DL' ones.
spinningwheel
To sum it all up, this is what we would say: The Sony AW-G170A is an interesting drive and has a good feature set. The AW-G170A also performs extremely well, with good write quality and performance and excellent reading performance. The only slight negative is the Sony AW-G170A has limited Bitsetting capabilities. Only DVD+R DL having its Booktype set as DVD-ROM. We would also like to see Bitsetting support for DVD+R/RW. So....If you're not doing DL discs, you're S.O.L. for now. #39;(
mmalves
What's the current firmware version on your burner?
LOCOENG
NEC's typically need modified firmware to allow for bitsetting anyway, you may need to crossflash your drive to a 7170A. http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?printe...7f40274bb970487 ...and then apply modified firmware from L&G. http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/Optiarc-AD-7170A/
dontasciime
and then flash to 7173a read up first as your drive needs to be in PIO mode first and you will need to use btflash the link provided above has that program linked (without it being clickable) This is at your own risk
