plates55
I am new to this forum. I have started using imgburn to burn xbox360 backups. I would like to add a Pioneer DVD writer DVR-x122 model to my book type/advanced area. It states in this area that you need to select the real manufacturer of the drive? Unsure about what the real manufactures is of my pioneer drive. Please help. I searched archives and did not find anything regarding this issue. LIGHTNING UK!
Bitsetting is automatic on Pioneer drives - well, for DVD+R DL media anyway. If you need full bitsetting capabilities you'll have to modify the firmware using Media Code Speed Edit (MCSE) to enable it. http://ala42.cdfreaks.com/MCSE/

The next screen then takes the user to change book type for certain dvices. My problem is I do not see my drive type listed (Pioneer DVR-X122). Does it need to be added on the advanced screen? I have looked for this in the forums and cannot find anything on it. I have a Plextor drive (cheap) and it is listed but I have had errors in my burns. thanks for the help Plates55

LIGHTNING UK!
Indeed, when I said it's 'Automatic', I meant that it's not something *any* software can control. Pioneer drives ALWAYS booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM.
blutach
So in looking at the imgburn program and going to discovery and then clicking on open book icon on the bottom right on the discovery screen. Please also remember that discovery mode is a sort of testing mode, where the program only writes 0s to (a portion of) the disc to validate the burner/firmware/media works. In doing so, it uses the media - ie makes a coaster. Regards
