Every DL post in the forum will tell you to use Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL media that's made in Singapore, this one is no different.

So, you are saying I have crappy DVD's that I just spent $40 on?

They don't appear to work very well in your drive but that doesn't mean they're crappy full stop.

Firmware support for the Verb MKM-001-00 discs is just a lot more mature and they're better quality anyway.

Oh well, you've tried them at both speeds available to you on that drive (4x and 6x) and it failed both times. You could keep trying if you don't mind a few more coasters but it's probably best that you don't!

Maybe you can take them back for an exchange / part refund?

you may have had better luck with the verbatim 2.4x speed ones MKM-001-00 Especially as the 8x ones may be newer than your drives firmware allows

It's all they had, but good news, it WORKED!

I now have a backup copy of Andre Rieu - The Homecoming. A good title I might add.

I just bought a pack of RiDATA DVD+R DL (RITEK-S04-66) 25 count. I am also getting "Failed to Write Sectors" errors on my Plextor 760A (1.07). I noticed these discs work with only newer drives like my Samsung 202N (burned at 8x). My BenQ 1655 can only burn these 8x discs at 2.4x. BenQ's latest firmware doesn't even support this disc.

A search would have revealed that we only recommend Verbatim, +R, 2.4x, MKM-001-00, Made in Singapore for DL burning. Sadly, you gets what you pays for in the media game.

I'm a long time ImgBurn user and I use only Verbatim discs. Seeing how inexpensive these RiDATA discs where on newegg I decided to give it a try, but your right, you get what you pay for.

However, when you say only Verbatim, +R, 2.4x MKM-001-00 is recommended, what about Verbatim 8x +R DL?

From what we see, the dye on the 001s is better and more reliable in most burners.
