Lou Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Yesterday I was using 2.4.0 and DVD-R DL media and it burned fine. I upgrade to 2.4.1 and now the same media from the same spindle now fails. I've made 2 coasters so far. Please help. I love the program and don't want to find a new one. Here is the latest log: I 15:41:37 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! Cynthia Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Hi and welcome to the forum, Lou! Try the solutions outlined in this thread. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=3574 But first check that DMA is enabled for your device. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...dpost&p=967
blutach Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I 15:42:55 Destination Media Type: DVD-R DL (Disc ID: RITEKP01) (Speeds: 4x) First, change to Verbatim, +R, 2.4x, MKM-001-00, Made in Singapore. Second, ensure you don't use -R DL if you are making a DVD Video (which I know is not the case here). Regards
OpTicaL Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 It's a golden rule with computer software, if it's not broken don't fix it.
blutach Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 It has nothing to do with the software and everything to do with the burner/media/firmware. Regards
LIGHTNING UK! ImgBurn only reports what the drive tells it, the errors are not from the program itself.

I appreciate the input but what I don't understand is that if it worked with 2.4.0 why won't it work with 2.4.1. I'll try different media and report my findings. I checked the DMA settings and they seem fine. I just have not made any changes and this is a new SATA drive. I don't get it! And anyone know where I can download 2.4.0?? Thanks again for all your help! Lou
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Please just trust me, it's not ImgBurn. You can't 'check' DMA settings, you need to do as the post in the FAQ says and uninstall the controller + reboot.
